We are increasingly seeing instances of people using the public waste bins to tip their domestic waste. These bins can't handle that amount of rubbish and is something that can lead to a fine.
Serco empty these bins twice a week but as you can see from the picture, it's taking less time than that to fill it.

In the interests of all allotment holders, and in view of the damage being caused to the track due to the current weather conditions, vehicles must not be driven onto this allotment site until further notice. The Council will review this situation when conditions improve.

You may have noticed some work being undertaken on the A6 in the last couple of weeks.
This was Leicestershire County Council & Severn Trent, who have installed a new cattle grid to try and provide a run-off for flooding.
This was really positive to see and a good first step in the right direction - we look forward to seeing if it works and keeps the A6 clear!

A £43,000 bid has been submitted to the Forestry Commission to fund the creation of a 15-acre community woodland in Hathern.
We've been working with Charnwood Borough Council, and in particular our Borough Councillors, Keith Harris & Emma Ward, on the project which could see around 15,000 trees planted on the council-owned land near Golden Square.

The original works on Narrow Lane, due on 21st October, are now to take place on 16th & 17th November 2020.
During this time, the stretch of Narrow Lane between Cottage Gardens Close & Cross Street will be closed.
This is to allow Severn Trent to carry out works.

The Council's garden waste service will resume on Monday November 9.
The service which is operated by the Council's waste partner Serco was paused for two weeks after a small number of Serco staff tested positive for Covid-19 and a number of employees were required to isolate.
