Successive Governments have required Local Authorities, Borough Councils, and Parish Councils to become much more answerable in terms of Accounting, Health & Safety and other matters. This page tells you who your representatives are on Hathern Parish Council, and attempts to show how the Councillors have responded to these requirements.
Meetings are held approximately ten times a year in the Village Hall, and members of the public are invited to attend. Also in attendance can be found a representative of the local constabulary, usually the beat policeman, and correspondents who submit a weekly report to the Loughborough Echo.
One of the major responsibilities of the Parish Council is the administration of the Annual Precept, this being a sum of money allocated from the Council Tax revenues for the needs and development of the village. An indication of how the Annual Precept has been used in the past can be obtained through the Achievements button above, and projects planned for the future can be seen via the Aspirations button also above.
